With the titans running game recording only 10 yards from its running backs, Vince used his mobility and rocket arm to give the Titans a chance to pull away with the victory. In the end the score shows the Titans 15 point loss, but it doesnt show how much progress our second year pro-bowl quarterback is making. While there are growing pains with any young nfl player, we have seen enough to know that for years to come we have a winner at the helm with enough heart to ensure that things can only get better.

With the win today against the Carolina Panthers, the Titans are now 6-2 on the season. This is a great start for any team, much less a team that many predicted would have a losing season this year. Next week the Titans take on the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars, hopefully the streak continues and we will be talking next week about the 7-2 Titans.

Hopefully Vince is able to pull out of this slump and get his confidence back this week against the Panthers. With a current record of 5-2 the Titans have a great chance of making the playoffs, hopefully they will get it together and make that happen.

Week 1 of the 2007 season Vince and company had to travel down to Jacksonville, FL to take on the mighty Jaguars

As we all know by now even though Vince did not have a stellar game, the Titans defeated the jags 13-10. Vince threw for only 78 yards with no TD and 1 INT. He did however rush for 22 yards with 1 TD. It’s a check in the Win column is all that matters though. The running game looked awesome, thanks to the great performance by the offensive line (the jags defensive line helped alot too though). All in all the Titans look much better than they have the last few years, especially on defense. I am looking forward to see what happens this season. Week 2 the Titans play the mighty Colts at home, this will be a true test. I will keep you posted with there progress.

Vince’s passing game wasn’t as hot as it had been. He ended the game throwing 19 completions on 29 attempts for 218 yards and 1 interception. But the damage was done on the gorund in stead. Young had 7 rushing attempts for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Young continues to make his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year. No rookie has had such an impact on their team. The Titans are now 6-7 and have won 4 games in a row. They face the Jaguars in Tennessee this week.

This was a tough game for Young to establish the offense as they were playing from behind the entire game. The turnovers didn’t help either. One of Young’s interceptions was returned for a touchdown, and a second one was nearly returned for a td, but Young was able to run down Rashean Mathis and tackle him on the 1 yard line. That was about the only positive thing to come out of this game. The fact that Young showed he has speed. He was able to run down a corner back 40 yards. He didn’t have an angle or anything, Young just straight up ran him down.

Perhaps what the Titans need is to let Young open up the offense a bit more by calling more roll out plays. They need to use his speed and agility to get outside the pocket and create mismatches. By buying some time outside the pocket, WRs will have more time to get open.

Young wasn’t expected to win this game, or to even put up big stats on a solid Jag defense. Young is still at the bottom of the learning curve. But there’s no doubt about it, the Jags will be seeing a lot of Vince Young for years to come.
