Week 5 of the NFL season is almost here and Vince Young is ready to make his second start as the Tennessee Titans quarterback. The Titans are on the road this week versus and undefeated Indianapolis Colts. Saying Young faces a tough challenge is a bit of an understatement. The Colts rarely ever lose in the dome.

Young’s ability to scramble outside the pocket will be his best attribute this week when he faces a speedy Dwight Freeney and Corey Simon up the middle. If Young stays in the pocket he will get killed. The Titan offense line is no match for the Colts front four.

For the Titans to have a chance, Young will need to use his legs to get outside the pocket and buy time for his receivers to get open. He has the arm to reach them down field, or if the Colts keep pressure on him, he can dump it off or run for a few yards.

The Colts are favored to win this game by like 18 points. That has to be one of the highest spreads I’ve seen in two years. Young is the future of this team. I’m not saying Young and the Titans are going to travel to Indy and beat the Colts, but I do think Young can use this game as a building block. It will give him experience playing a tough and formidable opponent. This is something he can look back on and say “I played tough in Indy”.
